Jazz is not reserved for the dark, dodgy and smokey basements as it was in the early 50s; Jazz is now a part of a huge form cultural expression.   Jazz connoisseurs and enthusiasts have succeeded in turning Jazz into a culture and a way of life. It influences the way they talk and their dress sense and where they hang out. Jazz has evolved and has rebranded the genre, South African Jazz culture celebrated as a form of social standing and form of expression.  Many budding Jazz lovers may not know where to go for some and soulful Jazz music, so here is a list of great Jazz clubs in South Africa.

Katzy’s Live – Rosebank, Johannesburg

The Katzy’s live stage has showcased some of South Africa’s finest established and fresh musicians. Katzy’s is a famous Jazz cigar lounge that offers live Jazz perfomances from Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Niki’s Oasis – Newtown, Johannesburg

Live music and soulful sounds in the inner city of Johannesburg.
